Position Type: Professional Business/High School Treasurer Date Posted: 7/3/2024 Location: Wheaton Warrenville South High School District: Community Unit School District 200 - website Affiliation: Classified Employees Association (CEA) Salary Grade D, Hourly pay rate: $18.80 Position: High School Treasurer Reports to: Assistant Principal - High School Work Schedule: 12 months/yr. 7:00am - 3:00pm Work Days: 251 Summary of Position: This position maintains all financial records for the school activity accounts and education budget. Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent Prior bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred Proficiency with computer applications i.e. Microsoft, Excel, Access and Outlook Ability to learn new software quickly Accuracy and attention to details Essential Job Functions : This position performs the duties below: Collects and records all student fees and obligations Maintains an accurate record of all activity and general accounts Records purchase orders and maintains balance in the educational accounts Processes fee waiver applications Processes free/reduced lunch applications Answers telephones, takes messages, and directs them to the correct office Maintains petty cash account Other duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications. KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: professional telephone etiquette and computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, School-related software). ABILITY is required to often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Work Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
