As the Project Engineer, you are responsible for assisting the Project Manager (PM) and onsite Superintendent and Foremen with the administration of the contract. Specific responsibilities include daily input of job time, tracking of quantities, daily reporting, storm water reporting, hiring documentation, safety administration, quality control plan implementation, schedule updates and assistance with cost and revenue projections. How will you do it? Code and enter payroll and equipment time into Heavy Job daily. Complete daily report and attach project photos for transmittal to PM. Track quantities completed and collect documentation daily. Ensure project complies with approved Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and maintain all documentation and inspections required for the SWPPP. Review and document Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's), and ensure they are used properly by the crew and reported to the PM. Review safety plan and ensure compliance. Modify the safety plan as needed to address changing conditions. Setup and maintain local hire employee packets and required support documentation. Provide corporate payroll accountants with information necessary to update status forms. Setup and maintain organized field office files. Track fuel usage. Maintain logs and return to Equipment Manager daily. Assist PM and Super with schedule and cost projection updates. Generate correspondence with the owner, suppliers and subcontractors as needed. Recognize and document changed work and conditions. Notify Super and PM when such conditions occur. Review pay estimates. Ensure quantities completed are accurately reflected in the current estimate. Report subcontractor quantities complete to Project Business Manager (PBM) and PM for each pay estimate to facilitate proper subcontractor payment schedule. Generate submittal register. Collect submittals from vendors and subcontractors. Ensure submittals conform to specifications and are approved by the owner. Verify materials match submittals at time of ordering and when they arrive on the job site. Generate and maintain a quality control plan. Ensure testing occurs at required frequencies and is documented. Report any deficiencies to the Super. Maintain traffic control plans (TCP's). Verify plan conforms to specifications and traffic control standards. Modify as needed to promote safe and efficient hauling. Implement Brice's substance abuse testing program. Assist Grade Checker to ensure staking conforms to plans and specs. Record grade checker quality control checks and field book entries into the project files. Receive parts and supplies onto the job and direct them to the intended recipient. Notify the parts department when ordered are received. Travel for work related purposes up to 95% of the time Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner Perform other duties as directed. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may assist the Superintendent on directing work to the construction field personnel and subcontractors. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Technical knowledge of various field construction concepts, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of construction, architectural, and building industry standard operating practices/procedures. Knowledge of construction project scheduling, subcontracts, submittals, quality control and safety. Knowledge of remote location construction projects. Ability to use standard business computers and applications, specifically computer software programs used in estimating (i.e. HeavyBid), Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to actively listen and provide high quality customer service. Ability to do business ethically with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Ability to work productively under pressure. Ability to assist in multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to read and understand all types of construction plans and specifications. Ability to organize and maintain a file system and clean safe work area. Ability to perform under deadlines and adjust work schedule to project meet goals. Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods of time. Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule sometimes including weekends and holidays. Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment. Who is Brice Incorporated looking for? Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering required. One (1) year of experience in addition to formal education in construction or industrial workplace setting preferred. Valid state driver's license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Brice Inc's Driving Policy. Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
