We are seeking an experienced Staff Digital Electronics Engineer to join our team at our Cincinnati, Ohio location as a key contributor and leader on digital hardware development teams. Digital electronics engineers work on sensor, communication, and electronic warfare programs solving our customer's most difficult technical challenges. Digital engineers design high-speed data interfaces, computer hardware for low data latency and high throughput, FPGA and microprocessor platforms, and custom electronics tailored to a variety of applications. Essential Duties: Drive the successful technical completion of projects working closely with the customer Understand each project mission and architect the systems our teams are creating Guide our engineers from requirements through design and build, and finally through delivery and deployment Lead and contribute to technical work while ensuring the team is meeting requirements and documenting designs to demonstrate success. Create novel solutions for challenging missions supporting our Nation as second to none! Basic Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar and 14 years of relevant experience OR master's degree in electrical engineering or similar and 12 years of experience OR PhD in Electrical, Computer or related Engineering discipline with 9 years of experience Architecture of high-speed, low-latency digital electronics hardware, from schematic capture and component selection through system integration Proficient with simulation tools such as Spice, Hyperlynx, or HFSS/ADS Knowledge of digital circuit design, simulation, and worst-case analysis, particularly for high-speed data and control interfaces Experience with printed circuit board layout requirements for high-speed design (e.g. layer stacking, impedance management, signal integrity methods, etc.) Experience in providing technical leadership to programs and mentoring to other engineers US Citizenship is required The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance (NG will sponsor) Preferred Qualifications: Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibly Experience with high-speed bus protocols, e.g. PCIExpress, Gigabit Ethernet, etc. Significant technical contribution in development of high-speed computing hardware, memory interfaces, design for signal integrity, high-capacity data handling systems, and/or EW programs Experience in designing complex system architectures  Experience with the challenges in designing hardware systems to survive in harsh environments including terrestrial, airborne, and space  Experience in SWAP design challenges  Systems integration testing  Verification and Validation  Leading system and/or subsystem design with direct involvement  Salary Range: $165,000.00 - $247,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
