The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Habilitation Services Project Coordinator. This position ensures compliance with regulations for the Standards for Certification of Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) Providers (A.AC. Ret seq). Ensures applicants and certified service providers are in compliance with regulations. Issues certifications. Recommends denial, suspension, and/or revocation of certification. Requires correction of certification violations, investigates complaints, provides advice and consultation, and interprets regulations and policies. Conducts compliance audits and provides technical assistance to maintain compliance. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Job Duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conducts compliance audits and provides technical assistance to maintain compliance. Drives an automobile throughout the state to audit certification requirements. Ensures applicants and certified service providers are in compliance with regulations. Issues certificates, and identifies violations. Provides consultation and correction of certification. Provides assistance to applicants and certified service providers with AHCCCS provider registration and problem-solving to certificate holders/certified service providers. Interprets regulatory issues in response to inquiries from Department colleagues, applicants, certified service providers, the general public, and/or from other governmental entities including AHCCCS. Composes and/or produces correspondence. May write drafts of notices of violation. Verifies and/or maintains regulatory data utilizing various automation systems. Tracks compliance time frames and priority work by date using automated systems. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge in: Regulatory process and functions. Federal and State laws, rules, regulations, and policies. Electronic records management. Automation systems, including database management programs, word processing, and web-based applications sufficient to prepare written and/or automated reports and coordinate/schedule workload and paper flow. Principles of customer service. Skills In: Use of basic grammar, spelling, and writing. Researching and resolving problems. Effective oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal relations, and data entry. Interpretation of Federal and State laws and or policy. Interviewing to elicit information and customer service. Data analysis, evaluation, and interpretation, time management including prioritizing. Organizational and workload management. Ability to: Communicate complex issues in a commonly understandable manner. Review procedures for process improvement. Be adaptable/flexible. Operate a motor vehicle according to State laws. Evaluate data and documents to determine compliance. Identify and analyze the information gathered from studies and/or audits to produce reports based on data and documents in an accurate, clear, and professional manner including recommendations for correction action. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
