Inizio's clients include Fortune 500 companies, consulting firms, defense contractors, startups, private equity & venture capital firms etc. We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist for one of our key customers, a Nasdaq-listed data analytics and digital operations & solutions company that partners with clients to improve business outcomes and unlock growth. Overview: The Payroll Specialist will have the full responsibility and ownership of assigned business units to administer payroll independently for approximately 700 employees. The incumbent is expected to have the overall knowledge of law related to processing payroll including understanding of Wage and Hour, FLSA and administering the federal, state and local tax withholding. Provides full-service in-house payroll (from withholding to gross-ups) support to assigned business units, using analytical skills to research and solve issues. Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and manage multiple tasks at once. The candidate would be reporting to the Jersey City office once a week . Responsibilities: Perform daily payroll department operations for the USA and Canada. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately Identify and improve payroll processes from SOX and internal control perspectives Review and reconcile payroll transmission to the general ledger Prepare, reconcile, and review payroll account balances Understand proper taxation of employee and employer benefits and deductions Review and process incentive payments Communicate with HR to obtain the necessary information to process payroll Respond to employees and internal teams when there are payroll inquiries Manage ad hoc projects related to payroll and HR Qualifications 7+ years of managing/processing multi-state payroll 2+ years of experience in Canada and/or Colombia payrolls Experience with a company with 2000+ employees Strong knowledge of Federal and State payroll withholdings Close attention to detail Ability to meet tight deadlines, and prioritize competing workloads Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to respond to payroll inquiries with professionalism, kindness, and empathy. Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in MS Office especially MS Excel Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Business related concentration Proven team player Prior SOX compliance experience would be preferred Prior experience with Ceridian Dayforce. Fluent in Spanish would be preferred.
