Veterinary Technician We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Life Sciences team! Our Veterinary Technicians work under the supervision of the Curatorial team, Consulting Veterinarian and assist husbandry staff with animal health care and water quality . We are looking for candidates with experience in performing animal necropsies, routine biological testing such as micro-biologic testing, f ecal analysis and bloodwork using common lab equipment, along with knowledge of basic chemistry, water quality testing and an understanding of the Nitrogen Cycle. A day in the life of a Veterinary Technician Veterinary Technicians are primary focused on the daily treatments and preventative health care of all fish and animals housed at Wonders of Wildlife, under supervision of Consulting Veterinarian and Curatorial team. This includes daily observation of all specimens in collection and quarantine for signs of disease and stress, necropsies as needed on fish, invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals, along with performing water quality testing including DO, Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, Copper, Chlorine, and others. Veterinary Technicians will assist in the planning of short- and long-term goals as related to veterinary care, including supplies, logistics, and other resources. Veterinary Technicians will assist museum staff & visitors as needed in a pleasant, professional, and courteous manner, and can be assigned other duties. Are you ready to join our team?
