Position Summary BranchWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our JOC (Job Order Contracting) team. This hybrid role will be responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring project plans and specifications are followed, creating line-item estimates and assisting the Project Manager in various aspects of project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to managing project timelines and resources. Duties/Responsibilities Oversee and manage on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. - Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from inception to completion. - Conduct site inspections and assessments to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to project schedules. - Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks. - Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders. - Identify and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise, escalating to the Project Manager as necessary. - Assist in preparing project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans. - Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes. - Participate in project meetings, providing updates and insights on field operations and progress. - Support the Project Manager in managing project risks, including identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies. - Develop line item estimates to be used on JOC contracts Duties/Responsibilities Cont. Reviewand submitend of month billings Developand communicatean effective plan in cooperation with the superintendent Monitorwork to ensure means and methods are followed and effective Maintainand updateproject schedule for PM review Reviewand/or developmaterial tracking list PromoteBranch Safety Culture Performpre-punch list walk thru with PM and Superintendent Enforcecontract close-out timeline and reconciles with Subcontractors Reviewcost data for accuracy and assists PM in generation of projection updates Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum of 1 years of experience in construction field engineering and/or project management. - Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. - Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications. - Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar). - Willingness to travel to project sites as needed. PLEASE NOTE this role will require travel throughout the state of Virginia.
