The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient populations. The Physical Therapist TTWP provides instruction to OT/PT support staff, PT students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members. Therapists may rotate through our various clinical service areas. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Physical Therapist Experience PREFERRED: N/A Education/training REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy Education/training PREFERRED: Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Successful challenge of the VCUHS Physical Therapy Clinical Ladder Independent action(s) required: Patient evaluation and implementation of intervention programs, discharge planning. Ordering equipment. Representing department at rounds and discharge conferences. Scheduling and charging patients. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Employee may have supervisory responsibilities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, students, and volunteers. Employee is a senior member of a self-directed team and applies his knowledge and experience in daily clinic problem solving. The team will bring unresolved issues to departmental manager for assistance and guidance in their resolution. Additional position requirements: Employee is expected to share in weekend and holiday schedule expectations of the department or have a fluctuation of daily work hours from 8 AM to 7 PM based on patient population needs.
