Occupational Therapist (OT) *Sign-On Bonus: $12,000 THE WHAT Are you an occupational therapist looking for flexibility, freedom and fun? If so, we want you! Ancora Home Health and Hospice is in need of a motivated occupational therapist who is enthusiastic about providing quality care to community members needing assistance with improving their activities of daily living. Our patients have a variety of conditions and needs, including post-surgical, orthopedic, stroke and other neurological diseases. Assess patient performance and ability to engage in activities affecting health and well-being Select"¯the appropriate OT treatment model, method, and approach to direct interventions Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) Teach patients new ways of approaching tasks and educate on how to break down activities into achievable components Assess patient homes and other environments to advise on alterations applicable to their needs and capabilities Recommend adaptive equipment and train on equipment use Guide and educate family members and caregivers as needed Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short-term treatment goals Skills and Qualifications - we know you have them! Current OT license in the state of practice Minimum 2 years of experience working as an OT Strong communication"¯and interpersonal skills among different types"¯of personalities Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement"¯ Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable automobile"¯ Proof of current automobile insurance Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance"¯ Negative TB test"¯ Current CPR certification Physical Requirements - to strengthen others! Requires considerable physical effort most of the day including kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking, exposure to temperature and humidity changes and maximal assist in lifting and/or transferring of a 100-pound patient. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet essential duties of this position. Mental Requirements - you went to school for this! Must be able to work independently, make judgments based on assessments and data available and act accordingly. Must be flexible, innovative and possess good interpersonal skills. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress and demonstrate emotional stability. Working Environment - there will be snacks! Works indoors in agency office and patient homes/care facilities; travel to and from patients is required. * Sign On Bonus: The first $6,000 paid out on the first paycheck and the other $6,000 paid out at six months with a two year commitment.
