Social Worker (LMSW) Early Childhood Center Seeking an outstanding Social Worker to join our team in our nationally-renowned Early Childhood Center and help our efforts on behalf of low-income children and families . Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers, is a settlement house founded in 1894 that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services-social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness-which significantly improve the lives of 16,000 people in need each year, ages 3 to 103, on the East Side of Manhattan. Our Early Childhood Center is a model program and lab school for innovations designed to provide the best possible educational, developmental and social services to 147 low-income preschoolers and their families all eligible for Head Start and to advance the field of early childhood education and development on a national level. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and set the standard for comprehensive educational and family services in the preeminent Early Childhood setting. Our holistic approach prepares children for success in elementary school and in life by offering a seamless, age-appropriate curriculum that strengthens language, literacy, motor, social and emotional and cognitive development, as well as integrated Family Services. Our educational curriculum includes art, music, movement, swimming, farm to table food and many other components from our multifaceted settlement house. Responsibilities: We have an opportunity for an outstanding Social Worker (LMSW) with relevant experience, who will have diverse responsibilities: coordinate services for children in our program; provide comprehensive support of their families - from intake, assessment and evaluation through the transition to kindergarten; responsibility of some of our nine classrooms (e.g., case management; family goal setting, home visits, in-class supports and collaboration with our teaching teams); facilitate family-focused support groups; represent the organization with community partners, providers and the NYC Department of Education; collaborate with other social workers and teachers on program-wide initiatives; and training to families and staff. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have experience working with low-income young children and their families; a stellar academic career; the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high achieving environment; excellent written and communication skills; the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and a commitment to achieving excellence on behalf of our children and families. Spanish fluency is highly preferred. Master's in social work with applicable licensure ideal.
