Compensation : $41.7 - $41.7 Hourly Client Job Ref ID : Shift Description : Night shifts - 36 hours Travel Contract - Certified First Assist Surgical Tech Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States - 49048 Job Title: Travel Contract - Certified Surgical First Assist Number of positions: 3 Shift: Night shifts- 36 hours Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 08/09/2023 Hourly pay: $41.70 OT: 1.5 Weekly Pay : $1,564 JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Surgery Shift Timings: Morning shift 07:00 - 17:30 Hours Roles & Responsibilities Position patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety. Provide visualization of the operative site using appropriate method, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning and irrigation. Utilize appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis. Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems. Assist in room clean up and the removal of the soiled case cart, supplies, and trash from OR room as needed at the completion of the surgical case. Participate as a surgical team member in the preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon's preference cards with appropriate instruments, resources and supplies. QUALIFICATIONS Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) National Institutes of Health (NIH) Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. The ability to stand for extended periods. Strong technical skills. Knowledge of medical terminology Passionate about patient care BLS Provider American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Graduate from a fully accredited certified Surgical Tech program Minimum three years of Certified Surgical Tech experience Active unencumbered Indiana state license Requirements: COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills. Participates in relevant continuing education programs. Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
