Position Summary: This position is responsible for the provision of all aspects of nutrition care and education to in-patients and out-patients ranging from infancy to elderly. This position coordinates with medical providers in the provision of nutrition services to medically high-risk clients when dietary intervention is needed for maintenance of optimum nutritional status. Coordinates nutrition services with WIC and provides follow up when they are admitted to the hospital and when they are discharged. This position also provides assistance to the Food Service Department with special diets for inpatients. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget in a manner that is cost efficient, effective and in alignment with the corporation's financial goals. Position Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Foods & Nutrition. Master's degree will be desirable. Two years of clinical nutrition and/or community nutrition ADA registration and state of Alaska licensure. Must maintain this status. Computer, weighing scale, body fat calibers. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of nutrition and diet therapy. Keeps current with the new trends in the field, as well as JCAHO/CMS standards. Basic computer skills and familiarity with common software applications. Acts as a resource for other members of the care team and community agencies.
