Job specification Candidate requirements Job specification Assess and monitor expectant mothers during labor, evaluating vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions. Assist with the management of labor, including the administration of medications, pain relief techniques, and monitoring of progress. Collaborate with obstetricians and midwives during childbirth, ensuring a safe and smooth delivery. Care for newborns immediately after birth, conducting assessments and interventions as needed. Educate expectant mothers and their families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care and provide guidance on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery. Candidate requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing institution. An Active Alaska RN License 1 year of experience in labor and delivery Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Previous experience in labor and delivery nursing is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally charged environment.
