Role and responsibilities Identifies gaps in lithography solutions and technology roadmaps. Demonstrates technology solutions through feasibility studies and proof of concepts to extend ASML's roadmaps. Supports the development of technology solutions where applicable in the lab. Also responsible for developing new technology competences, creating inventions, transferring results to development operation after building proof of concept Team: Is seen as the sparring partner on technical content and application of research topics for senior stakeholders across ASML. Shapes external research programs and suppliers and/or autonomously interacts with customers. Environment: Keeps up with relevant developments in the own area of expertise and contribute to the (scientific) field by developing new, state of the art knowledge, exchange knowledge with other professionals, as well as develop and maintain own network in and outside of ASML. Impact: Co-develops the business and/or technology strategy from a leading position in own area of expertise by identifying and sharing new developments and trends, create new technological innovations and breakthroughs, translate these into building blocks for others and practical opportunities for own area/domain. Has large impact on the work of several colleagues, is seen as a role model and acts as a mentor/coach. Education and experience Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant work experience. PhD Degree- 5 years, will consider post doctoral research toward experience Master Degree - 8 years experience Distinguished professional - should be recognized as a technical domain expert whose judgement is trusted broadly on technical and managerial levels in ASML and in the scientific world outside. Formulates vision on future developments and applies/stretches the full body of existing and emerging knowledge in a complex domain. Has experienced multiple process cycles from idea generation to D&E transfer. Act as the Electronic Development representative in a multidisciplinary research team. Multiple years' experience as designer of electronic functions and sub-systems, including experience with working in multidisciplinary design teams to establish agreement on specifications. Ability to support the testing & troubleshooting of electrical & electronic systems to component level using standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, Signal generators, etc....) Interact intensively with colleagues from the Mechatronics Systems and Software Development departments. Decompose functional requirements and define, document and maintain specifications of the electrical architecture, electrical modules and electrical infrastructure. Perform trade-off studies to determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed functions. Get agreement with stakeholders. Make work breakdown and effort estimation for the various electronics products, aligned with other stakeholders. Conducting system and subsystem level integration/testing, data collection, and analyzing the effectiveness of the resulting data. Manage the outsourcing of development activities at co-developers. Solve problems during first system integration. Maintain knowledge and roadmap concerning the control electronics within the ASML products. Contribute to the multidisciplinary roadmap. Other information This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT.It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation. Role within the Factory Responsibilities: Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Can work under deadlines. The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level. Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule- twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week. This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.
