VICE PRESIDENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, RAINBOW USA, INC.Job Summary:The Vice President of Information Systems will oversee the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and security of the company's information systems and processes including computer, communication, and office systems.Supervisory Responsibilities:Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management and professional-level staff in the department.Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of management-level staff in the department.Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.DutiesResponsibilities:Establishes the strategic direction of the company's information systems (IS); executes this strategy in collaboration with company leadership.Directs and coordinates professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, and programming of information, communication, office automation systems, POS systems and warehouse automation systems.Identifies and recommends new technologies and services that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations; reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization.Approves the purchase, rent, lease, license, maintenance or other acquisition of hardware, software, or services needed to meet company needs.Monitors and reports progress on development projects, resource utilization, and production performance to executive leadership.Ensures the integrity and reliability of computerized information systems, communication systems, and office systems including the security of data acquired, stored and transmitted.Facilitates preparation of project plans and proposals, outlining project objectives, IS requirements, and analytical and programming staffing requirements for proposed systems.Maintains pace with technological progress, economic change, and company needs by directing continual improvements of IS staff, equipment, and procedures.Prepares, implements, and executes IS budget.Performs other duties as assigned.Manages the various service and maintenance contracts and makes sure invoices are paid correctly, on time and within budgets.Required SkillsAbilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Thorough understanding of IT policies and procedures.Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly master technology used in the organization.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Thorough knowledge of the IBM iSeries (AS400) hardware and software is requiredThorough knowledge of the Island Pacific software suite is required.Thorough knowledge of Retail and Retail POS Systems is required.Knowledge of the Lawson HR and Payroll Systems is preferred.Knowledge of the Avaya IP Office system is a plus.Knowledge of the VMWare and Veeam software also a plus.Knowledge of Domino and Notes in an iSeries environment is preferred.Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPN and networking are required.Education and Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Research, or Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience required.At least ten years of experience in a technical or VP of IT Management role required with significant leadership experience preferred.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
