Accounts Payable ManagerChicago$120,000 - $150,000 + bonus and benefitsThe CompanyAn Accounts Payable Manager role is available for this world leading Law firm who has developed an enviable reputation for advising world-leading corporate and financial institutions across some of the world's leading companies and financial institutions including a significant number listed on the Fortune 100, FTSE 100 and DAX. Covering a broad range of practices including Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Intellectual Property, Joint Ventures & Strategic Alliances, Mergers & Acquisitions and Real Estate, the business operates across Asia, the Americas and Europe. This is a key role where you can drive the day-to-day activities and administration related to the Firm's Accounts Payable procedures and you will be involved in the leadership of the team.Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager• Leads full cycle execution of the cash disbursements function• Manages, develops and mentors departmental staff• Ensures a robust, effective control system• Helps foster a collaborative, innovative and empowering culture• Ensures timely, accurate processing and payment of vendor invoices and expense reimbursements • Ensures timely support of and responsiveness to customer base• Evolves operations through innovation, technology and ongoing assessments of practices• Serves as primary contact with third party service center in their support of clerical tasks• Leads the multiple processes of payments to vendors and Firm personnel• Ensures pristine and accurate recordkeeping and processing• Supports the department's financial and expense workflow systems• Supports measurement of departmental performance through data, metrics and KPI's• Supports departmental strategies• Solves problems quickly and adeptly• Conducts staff training; develops sophisticated process documentation and informative content• Leads departmental projects and other tasks as assigned• Develops comprehensive expertise on the Firm's financial systems, disbursements workflow platform and policies and procedures• Is on cutting edge of industry technologies and innovationsSkills & Attributes of the Accounts Payable Manager• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience• You will be an experienced leader within Accounts Payable with demonstrable team leadership• Five years+ in accounts payable required• Experience in legal or other professional services environment is preferred• Expert knowledge of financial and accounts payable operations and systems• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel• Advanced knowledge of automated disbursements workflow systems (e.g. Chrome River, Concur, Coupa), strongly preferred• Projects a strong, credible leadership presence within the team and Firm• Demonstrates a natural inclination toward providing exemplary service and upholding high standards of excellence • Cultivates strong relationships and fosters trust among partners, clients and colleagues• Strives for continuous improvement by assessing current practices, seeking feedback, staying updated on industry trends and implementing best practices• Exhibits meticulous attention to detail when executing operations, documenting information and maintaining pristine recordsFollow us on LinkedIn for up-to-date industry news and our latest vacancies: and can only be considered from those eligible to live & work in the USA without restriction.
