Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.We're currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Manager to monitor day-to-day operations of the department as they relate to both dispensing and clinical activities. Managers are responsible for planning, developing, implementing and coordinating current and future programs aimed at improving the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients, through innovative and educational initiatives. Primarily, you will:Ensure that each patient's orders are reviewed by a pharmacist to optimize therapeutics including safety and effectiveness.Prepare and adjust monthly and daily work schedules for pharmacy personnelOversee all aspects of medication administration to assure safe and effective delivery to patient; detects and reports on adverse drug reactions and medical emergencies and participates in their management; maintains documentation.Participate in training and supervision of staff; initiates disciplinary action; carries out annual performance appraisal of employees.Provide patient education instruction and clinical insight to pharmacists who educate patients on post-discharge medications supervises pharmacists in patient education process.Provide periodic in-services and seminars to pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other health care professionals; provides specific drug information and general drug education to other clinicians by interpreting, evaluating and excerpting material from professional literature.Develop criteria for hospital and departmental drug utilization evaluations and other QA programsAssist the Director of Pharmacy in planning and developing new dispensing and clinical programs.Serve as a resource to the hospital and to the entire hospital-wide professional staff concerning matters of Pharmacy practice and clinical drug information.Assist the Pharmacy Administration in providing "Collaborative Drug Therapy Management" We require:Graduation from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a BS required; advanced graduate degree (M.S, PhD, or a postgraduate Pharm.D.) preferredCurrent NYS registration as a licensed pharmacist required.Minimum of 3 years' experience in health system practiceInfusion Center essentialBasic data entry skillsGood verbalwritten English communication skillsGood interpersonal skills Salary $140,000-$150,000.
