Job Description

Lead - Advisor is a consulting and search firm specializing in wealth management. This role is for a client firm. We are helping our client in Columbus, hire a Financial Planning Associate.The Financial Planning Associate partners with Financial Advisors, team members and the company's Financial Planning Support in the development of financial plans for clients. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert in developing and implementing holistic financial plans and strategies to maximize tax loss harvesting. Daily Activities· Collaborates with Advisors to develop and deliver client recommendations and plans that align with financial planning best practices.· Utilizes company software along with industry knowledge and expertise to produce financial planning recommendations and complete required tasks to initiate the agreed upon plan.· Participate in client meetings to answer questions and provide a clear understanding of the company's planning philosophies.· Ability to mentor team members to increase knowledge of planning techniques and company product.· Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory practices are maintained.· Support and complete new investment account establishment and maintenance of accounts for clients. Qualifications and Experience· 4-year college degree and 1+ year of relevant work experience.· 2+ years of practice in trusts & estates or tax law.· Licenses: Series 7, 63, & 66, Life and Health Insurance. Preferred Competencies Needed· Advanced financial planning certifications (CFP, RICP, ChFC, etc.)· CPA, J.D., or LLB.· Demonstrated understanding of strategic charitable solutions, including the gifting of complex assets and the value of philanthropic consultation.· Familiarity with and ability to drive results around taxation of entities, estates, and trusts.· Knowledge of issues relating to securities-based compensation (restricted stock, employee stock options, performance share units, etc.), pre-liquidity planning, and concentrated positions.· Excellent attention to detail, focus, and follow-through on commitment to clients and the team in a timely manner.· Ability to contribute to the team, collaborating to improve work processes to assure efficiency and accuracy.· Strong self-motivated individual who is committed to exceptional customer service.· Must be able to coach colleagues and clients demonstrating strong partnership skills.· High ethical standards working in the clients' best interest.
