Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.POSITION OVERVIEWThrough commemoration, exhibitions, and educational programs, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum remembers and honors the 2,983 people killed in the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993, as well as those who risked their lives to save others and all who demonstrated extraordinary compassion in the aftermath of the attacks.The 911 Memorial & Museum currently offers tailored programming for law enforcement, intelligence, military, and first responder agencies. Building on this work, we have begun expanding these mission-based programs into the private sector. The Assistant Manager of Professional Programs will support and help manage this expansion, bringing their training and industry expertise to ensure these programs resonate with participants and scale as intended. The Assistant Manager will work with the Director of Public and Professional Programs to develop programs, formulate plans for growth, conduct extensive outreach, and continually evaluate our efficacy.The Assistant Manager will report to the Director of Public and Professional Programs and may require the flexibility to work early mornings and occasional weekends. The institution currently has a hybrid model of working both onsite and remotely, but these policies may evolve in the coming year. Program needs will largely inform these decisions for this position. This role is a grant-funded termed position through December 31, 2027. We hope to extend this term with future funding.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork collaboratively with Professional Programs staff to develop, deliver, and implement programs that engage a diverse set of professional audiences.Produce tailored programs for assigned groups, including program design, research and writing, presentation development, day-of execution, and program evaluation.Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned partners and programs.Cultivate relationships across a wide range of companies and sectors to promote and inform our programming.Work with the Director of Public and Professional Programs on programmatic strategy, including development of onsite, offsite, and virtual offerings.Oversee speaker booking, tour guide coordination, and other program logistics, ensuring smooth and meaningful experiences for all program guests.Conduct research, as directed, to support Professional Programs content development.Performs other duties needed to help fulfill our mission.QUALIFICATIONSSKILLSREQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree or equivalent experience -depth understanding of the private sector landscape, including various industries, their training needs, and organizational structures.Proven track record of creating impactful programming that aligns with educational and business objectives.Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple programs simultaneously within established timelines and budgets.Well-organized, with keen attention to detail.Assesses priorities effectively and works well under pressure.Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Self-starter, takes initiative, and works well independently and collaboratively.Able to use discretion and represent the Museum with integrity and fortable engaging with a diversity of audiences.QUALIFICATIONSSKILLS DESIREDExperience working within one of the professional sectors listed above.Familiarity with the events and background of 911.Note: Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they can perform every job description task.
