Job Title: Ophthalmic TechnicianLocation: New York, NY 10011Duration: 2 Months with high possibility of extensionShift: 8:30am - 6:30pm, Monday - ThursdayPay Range: $35 to $42Hour.Description:Performs preliminary screening examinations for physician review including visual field tests, ocular motility tests, color vision tests, pupil tests, tonometry, tonography, tensilon tonography tests, and pupil testing for size, equality, and reaction prior to dilation.Directs patient flow for Eye Center physicians; gathers medicalpersonal data for charts; screens patients; arranges tests, photography, studies, admissions, and surgery as requested; alleviates patient and family concerns by explaining procedures and treatment.Calibrates and maintains instruments including bio-microscopes, lensometers, keratometer, tangent screen, slit lamp, and tonometers; cleans and stocks consultation rooms and microbiology lab with necessary supplies.Sterilizes and sets up instruments for ophthalmic surgeries; assists with minor office surgery, laser treatments, and operating room surgery.Education and Certificates:High School OR GEDOphthalmic Technician Certification
