Job Title: Project Engineer CoordinatorLocation: PlanoHours: Full timePay: $110K to $123KThe Project Engineer Coordinator provides leadership to consultants and design engineers engaged in highway design work. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and reviews plans to meet engineering standards. Responsibilities include participating in the award process, negotiating contract terms, preparing design criteria, processing contracts, reviewing payment requests, and collaborating with various departments, agencies, and consultants.Responsibilities:Lead multiple projects by overseeing consultants and design engineers, monitoring project progress, ensuring compliance with regulations and design criteria, facilitating regular meetings with internal and external partners, and monitoring project budgets.Manage procurement activities for design services from initiation to project completion, including developing procurement standards, processing contracts, and supplemental agreements, selecting consultants, coordinating scope of services with other departments, negotiating terms, and facilitating contracts through legal review and approval.Support planning activities by providing schematic and environmental commitment reviews and partnering with local municipalities to create interlocal agreements.Develop guidelines and specifications for construction projects, researching and implementing engineering and construction techniques, and providing assistance with construction specifications.Respond to inquiries, developreview design standards and specifications, respond to open-records requests for information, review projects from other departments, and attend public meetings as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.Over 5 years of experience in highway design or related fields.Valid Texas Driver's License.Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
