Cashiers play a key role in creating a positive shopping experience for customers by accurately processing purchases, answering inquiries, and offering assistance as needed. Duties/Responsibilities: Scan and ring up merchandise, process payments, and issue receipts accurately and efficiently using a point-of-sale (POS) system. Greet customers as they enter the store and thank them for their business at the conclusion of each transaction. Handle transactions ensuring accuracy and security at all times. Answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, promotions, and store policies, providing helpful and accurate information. Bag or package merchandise neatly and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including counters, registers, and adjacent spaces, and request supplies (e.g., bags, receipt paper) as needed. Monitor and manage customer queues to minimize wait times and ensure a smooth checkout process for all customers. Adhere to all safety and security protocols, including cash handling procedures, to prevent theft, fraud, and loss. Uphold company standards for customer service, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions with customers. High school diploma , GED or equivalent work experience. Fulfill additional tasks assigned by the Store Manager. Requirements Skills/Qualifications: Previous experience in cashiering and customer service is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and colleagues. Basic math skills and proficiency in using a cash register or POS system to process transactions accurately. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate store operating hours. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for an extended length of time.
