Function: Intern/Co-op Job Summary: The electrical and instrument engineering intern is responsible for helping design, specify and construct components and systems to improve production rates, increase efficiencies, lower operating costs, minimize required maintenance, and improve plant safety. The electrical and instrument intern will also assist in troubleshooting equipment and provide suggestions to service and install plant equipment safely. The selected candidate will be self-motivated to learn and willing to follow instructions. Job Description: Job Responsibilities: Acquisition of information for jobs such as pictures of plant equipment, manufacturer specifications of equipment, specification sheets, and wiring diagrams. Assist in keeping engineering documents organized. Obtain information from equipment vendors as well as intercompany employees and contractors. Work safely and follow engineering guidelines. Assist engineering in completing and detailing AutoCad drawings, P&ID's, equipment layouts, specification sheets, and various other engineering drawings. Help determine causes for malfunctioning equipment and help provide suggestions to take corrective action. Read electrical drawings and schematics. Candidates MUST follow all safety rules. Qualifications: Enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of one year completed (by December 2022) towards obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.  Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 (transcript required). Possess and maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Ability to prove drug and alcohol free at random or for cause. Knowledge of basic mechanical skills such as residential wiring and equipment repair. Very good verbal, written and listening skills as well as strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Self-motivation to learn and desire to research before asking questions. Ability to walk and climb ladders and stairs. Microsoft Office software knowledge such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Enthusiastic and able to occasionally work overtime if needed. Key Benefits: Experience with electrical AC/DC voltage, pneumatic control valves, basic electronics, programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, motor control systems, electrical distribution systems (120V to 35kV), and process control systems. Coached and mentored by CF Engineering Leadership. Communication skills with production workers and management. Interactive skills needed to develop working relationships with maintenance, operations and engineering personnel in a team environment.
