This role includes maintaining the payroll database and managing bi-weekly payroll preparation for both Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc. (FMA) and Midwest Assembly, Warehouse and Distribution (MAWD), our wholly owned subsidiary. The Controller supervises a team of staff accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure that financial tasks are properly allocated, completed accurately, and within established timelines. Key responsibilities also include developing financial strategies, preparing detailed financial statements, and ensuring efficient financial operations across the organization.We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent people management skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at leading and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment while ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and accuracy.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Prepare corporate and subsidiary financial statements.Supervise accounting and project support staff, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.Process payroll and coordinate benefits with Human Resources.Prepare for the company's annual audit and various monthly financial reports.Participate in meetings with senior management to review financial performance and strategies.Verify the accuracy of sales orders, including pricing, discounts, sales tax, and shipping/handling charges.Project weekly invoicing expectations and review variances with management.Maintain ongoing communication with various departments regarding job statuses, special billing/invoicing requirements, and client billing requests.Required Skills/AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
