Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance Department. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of our manufacturing company. This position reports directly to the Controller, in close collaboration with the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams. Key Responsibilities:Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.Collaborate with AR and AP teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.Prepare and issue custom daily and weekly reports.Perform month-end closing tasks, including GL account analyses and reconciliations, review and true up of prepaids and accruals, and reporting to meet deadlines.Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation.Assist other departments with Capex requests, ensuring compliance with internal policies.Support the Controller in analyzing and determining standard costs, ensuring they accurately reflect production operations.Assist with annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting activities.Ensure adherence to finance policies and procedures.Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.Share expertise and insights with accounting staff to improve practices and processes.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar accounting roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with at least intermediate-level skills in Excel and some experience with PowerPoint.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a deadline-oriented mindset.Proactive and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Eager to learn our ERP system and enhance cost accounting skills.Plus (skills that will distinguish you as a top candidate, but not required):·      Exposure to/experience in manufacturing cost accounting, including analyzing and reporting on manufacturing costs, margins, and variances. ·   Some supervisory experience.·   Working knowledge of MS Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
