Please review the job details below.Maxar is seeking a Senior Release Train Manager to join our team in Herndon, VA to support a customer with a fast-paced and exciting mission.  You will serve as a leader for a Software-focused Agile Release Train (ART), facilitating and assisting the teams in delivering value to the business and our Government sponsor.  You will have in-depth agile process knowledge in order to coach and mentor both local and remote teams effectively in the implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework.Life with Us Project: The Senior Release Train Manager will be a key member of the technical leadership team, working directly with program management and the software development team to support an established and growing Intelligence Community (IC) mission.  You will need to quickly understand and assess the programs technical scope and roadmap to effectively lead the team.  You will simplify and enable program execution by removing obstacles in work processes and managing risks and dependencies between the teams.  You will directly interface with our customer regarding agile performance against our technical requirements and facilitate stakeholder requests as needed.    Career:  Maxar is a leading global provider of advanced space technology solutions for commercial and government markets including satellites, Earth imagery, geospatial data, and analytics. The salary range listed in this req is representative of the possible growth within Maxar for various similar positions within this job family. Your responsibilities:Plan and Facilitate Program Increment (Release) and Iteration (Sprint) planning to include Backlog Refinement, PI Planning, Retrospectives, Scrum of Scrums, and related ceremonies; Manage and advertise the calendar of ceremoniesFacilitate Lean agile organizational transformation across the organization to build a modern delivery capability; includes setting a vision, aligning necessary resources, and communicating to stakeholders on status/milestonesOrganize and Facilitate team training of developers and team membersIncorporate principles of Lean Systems Engineering, Cloud Architectures, DevOps, DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, and other modern software development approaches to maximize the flow of value through the release trainAnalyze and articulate complex subject matter via proposal responses, white papers, and presentations, advocating for lean/agile principles to team members, management, customers, and stakeholdersProduce metrics, including burndown/burnup charts, QA efficacy, feature execution, and overall brain healthAssist with agile integration into the program's cost baseline by facilitating feature and capability estimation with the teamsRecommend and oversee implementation of a comprehensive software Configuration Management (CM) plan and strategy for the programWork with the team to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) and a release strategy approachMinimum Requirements:Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearanceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 15 years of relevant experience in an agile software development team or delivery organization with increasing responsibilitiesExpert knowledge of Agile development principles and best practices, preferably with SAFeDemonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of deliverables, and drive assigned tasks to completionStrong sense of self-motivation essential - must be willing to be actively involved in the details of train executionProficiency with requirements management processes and toolsPreferred Qualifications: Experience with Atlassian software suite, including Confluence and JiraExperience with automated testingStrong teamwork and collaborative skillsFull knowledge of modern development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD, DevSecOps)Software architecture/ development / Systems Design experienceExperience with agile integration within Earned Value Management requirementsAbility to work effectively in a dynamic environment while managing multiple prioritiesAbility to translate complex information into ideas and effectively communicateAbility to problem-solve with sound judgment and decision-making skillsStrong cross-functional team collaboration skillsExcellent listening, written, and verbal communication skillsStrong facilitation and presentation skills#cjpost#LI-CJ1Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:$155,000.00 - $259,000.00 annually. Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.Maxar employees must follow all applicable Maxar policies and COVID-19 requirements as well as those of Maxar customers and third parties.
