What you will doIn this role you will help save lives by assisting in the inspection of fire sprinkler systems.  You will also be stepping onto a noble career path - to be a life safety professional.Inspectors are responsible for assisting the Lead Fire Sprinkler Inspector with conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines.  Johnson Controls will take an active role in laying out a training and development program for Inspector Helpers to help them begin to achieve NICET certifications and get promoted to higher levels of responsibility in our organization and in the fire industry.How you will do itAssisting our customers to keep their buildings and occupants safe and compliant by inspecting and testing fire alarm systems and associated devices to make sure they are fully functional and operationalComplete Inspection reports and documents with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copyFollow and maintain a highly structured inspection scheduleInput, retrieve and archive inspection documents via laptop computerComplete assigned inspections on timePerform duties with the safety of yourself and your colleagues and customers in mind 100% of the timePerform other duties as assignedWhat we look for RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAble to work away from home 2 weeks out of a monthDemonstrate a high level of customer serviceAble to work well with othersSelf-starter who can eventually work with little to no supervisionStrong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quicklyBasic computer skills - Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook) along with SmartPhone skills Able to follow verbal and written instructionsCapable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 30 lbs.Must be able to climb ladders and willing to work with scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet. Understanding this may include working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings etc.Able to work flexible hours including alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer requirementsAble to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and proceduresDesire to take and then successfully complete the Inspector Entrée Course (Electrical or Sprinkler) and OSHA requirements provided by company trainingPossess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirementsAble to pass a pre-employment background and drug testPreferred Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and operational/product manuals (this can be taught to employee in first 12 months)Experience with hand tools and barcode scanners. (this can be taught to employee in first 12 months)Successfully obtain NICET Level 1 License within 1 year of employment, supported by company provided training.HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $15-22 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
