We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Lead Pharmacy Technician is that individual who, under the supervision of the Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy, assists in the various activities involving the daily direct supervision of technician functions. Such duties include, but need not be limited to workflow, call-in, overtime, payroll and scheduling. The Lead Pharmacy Technician will perform specialized clerical functions including, but not limited to human resources paperwork and employee educational books documentation. The Lead Pharmacy Technician must function in strict accordance with standards, written procedures and guidelines with deviation approved by the Pharmacy Director. Organizational relationships include being directly responsible to the Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy.What qualifications you will need:Fully cross-trained to perform all technician and buyer duties as assigned.Direct supervision of daily technician duties, including; makes alternative arrangements for coverage when inclement weather, call-outs, or increased workload situations arise.Assists management in the retrieval of accurate, concise, applicable and meaningful data or statistics; maintains an effective filing system. Effectively communicates with staff including publishing and distributing memos, minutes, newsletters, and notices to ensure effective communication with internal and external staff.Assists with administrative function of automated dispensing equipment.Maintains technician educational books and staff training and yearly competency assessments for technicians.Completes work activities through effective management of time, tasks and available resources; manages own conduct, performance, and attitude including, time, space, ethics, attendance and punctuality, and customer focus. Performs other duties as assigned or scheduled.Provides controlled substance audit oversight, as assignedEnsures IV room cleaning compliance. Facilitates IV room environmental quality testing on a monthly basis and trends for improvements, as assigned Participates in the performance improvement process. Assists in the assessment of departmental operations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. Develops and maintain s the technician schedule. Effectively identifies and manages performance management issues. Participates in the 90-day and annual performance review process. Maintains knowledge by attending meetings at a local, regional and national level. Actively participates in hospital and market committees. Required - 4 years Pharmacy TechnicianPreferred - 4 years Pharmacy Technician + 2 years supervisory experiencePreferred - Bachelor of Science degree or Associate's degreeRequired - Certified Pharmacy Technician Preferred - CPhT National certification Henrico Doctors' Hospital has provided quality healthcare services to the Richmond community since 1974.
