Job Description

Location Marysville, Ohio Job Purpose Utilize procurement knowledge and technical background to assess supplier, as well as confirm Global and North American supplier cost proposals in future Honda new model and strategic business plan projects. Utilize technical knowledge to support the development of statement of work and ensure project milestones are achieved.     Key Accountabilities Considering regional as well as global direction, confirm supplier capability and capacity for supplier Maker Layout decisions. Confirm project requirements are incorporated into clear Statement of Work. Lead negotiation with suppliers to achieve best QCD with total cost of ownership viewpoint. Manage day-to-day supplier relationship and countermeasure any gaps between supplier and Honda project team. Determine and evaluate impact of design changes and project change orders to investment during new model and business plan projects Lead various investment reduction projects, developing revisions to existing cost calculation tables and internal index Build a network of productive relationships across AHM / HDMA to achieve project milestones, and cost targets. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required Education: Bachelor's degree in business, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience required. Required Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in either a Purchasing and/or Procurement related role or in a field where job knowledge & skills are applicable based on education. Desired Experience: Ability to evaluate tooling/equipment cost and negotiate based on logic/experience.  Ability to interpret 2d/3d designs, manage supplier relationships, work in teams to build consensus, solve problems, understand the multiple ways to make equipment to achieve Honda's requirements.   Workstyle International travel may be required once or twice a year with an average length of 1-2 weeks per trip (5% overall travel) Willingness to work overtime due to the cyclical business needs of the NM or BP schedule. Open office environment with moderate level of noise and activity Blended remote work based on management discretion and operating needs.
