Job Description

The project manager is the person responsible for accomplishing the stated project objectives. Key project management responsibilities include creating clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements, and managing the constraints of the project management triangle, which are cost, time, scope, and quality.A project manager has to determine and implement the exact needs of the client, based on knowledge of the firm they are representing. A project manager is the bridging gap between the production team and client so he/she must have a fair knowledge of the industry they are in so that they are capable of understanding and discussing the problems with either party. The ability to adapt to the various internal procedures of the contracting party, and to form close links with the nominated representatives, is essential in ensuring that the key issues of cost, time, quality and above all, client satisfaction, can be realized.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and maintain the project plan.Manage the project stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.Manage communication between customers and project team members.Manage the workflow associated with the project team members.Manage the project risk.Manage and maintain the project schedule.Manage and maintain the project budget.Manage project conflict resolution.Manage project changes.Manage the project delivery.Manage project quality.ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE MEASURESMaintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.Complete projects while meeting or exceeding profitability targets.Complete projects while meeting or exceeding resource usage targets.Provide project status updates to management in a timely manner.Execute on group process and procedure.COMMON TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE POSITIONReport on project status to internal management weekly.Report on project status to the customer contact.Review project database weekly to address/review allocated hours, materials received, project billing, etc.Communicate weekly with accounting with regard to billing projects per the contract terms.Conduct site visits and/or attend project site meeting as required by the contract. Site visits should be conducted at least once per week, more if needed.Communicate with the USIS Field Manager/Foreman/Site Lead daily by phone or email to ensure proper staffing levels and skill sets are kept to meet the project schedule as well as to ensure cost expectations for the contract are maintained.Convey any approved changes to the contract to the USIS Field Manager/Foreman/Site Lead. This includes ensuring the USIS Field Manager/Foreman/Site Lead is in possession of all related documentation.Coordinate with procurement for any RMA products, and to confirm those RMA products are allocated properly.Review workmanship and ensure all aspects of the installation are done to USIS standards. The project manager is expected to conduct one or more installation quality onsite reviews along with the USIS Field Manager/Foreman/Site Lead. Coordinate with the USIS site lead/foreman to ensure all representatives of USIS on site conduct themselves in a professional manner and that all team members are working productively. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum ten [5] years of electronic security industry-related experience.Minimum ten [5] years of project management experience in a business-to-business, large/strategic customer segment; or a record of achievement and management expertise in a comparable role.Minimum five [5] years of project management experience in commercial construction; ability to expertly navigate the commercial construction project life cycle.PMI Project Management Professional [PMP] Certification [REQUIRED - NOT OPTIONAL]Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of access control system operation in commercial applications.Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of video surveillance system operation in commercial applications.Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of security industry troubleshooting methods.Demonstrated experience through industry-related certifications or other assessment tools.Must understand how to read drawings and extrapolate relative information to responsibilities.Highly organized.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.This position includes outside travel to customers' premises.
