In this role, you will have the opportunity to bid on complex site development projects, with a special focus on underground "wet" utilities and earthwork, while actively growing your career in an environment that encourages teamwork and progress. As a member of our dynamic project team, you will play a critical role in ensuring project success through precise estimation and effective project planning. For this position, Bommarito Construction provides a competitive salary compensation, based on experience, health insurance, continued professional education, and the opportunity to participate in its 401k program, which includes an annual match schedule for vested employees. This position is also eligible for the corporate bonus plan, based on personal and company performance. This is an in-office position and work from home will not be available.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Project Evaluation & Analysis: Understand the scope of work, conduct site visits, and identify risks and challenges.Quantity takeoff: Perform accurate takeoff for earthwork, excavation, trenching, and pipe installation. Calculate and/or analyze volumes for earthmoving, backfill, and grading activities.Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of earthwork and utility installation scopes of work. Utilize estimating software and databases to track and compile estimates based on historical data and current market trends and prices.Bid Preparation & Submission: Develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring exclusions and clarifications are included. Submit bids on time and manage follow-up communications with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing project and/or company budgets and provide cost control measures throughout the project life cycle.Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost saving through value engineering without compromising quality or safety.Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on project objectives and cost expectations, attend pre-bid meetings, and present estimates to management, clients, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.Continuous Improvement:Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and technological advancements in estimating software and methods to drive innovative solutions to complex challenges - always asking "What's Next?" POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:At least 7 years of commercial construction estimating experience, with a focus on site development.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Strong technical skills, particularly with commercial estimating software.Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and quality.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build positive, professional relationships across all levels of the organization.A passion for, and commitment to, continuous learning and professional development.A commitment to Bommarito Construction's core values and a desire to contribute to our mission of being dedicated to building people, services, and relationships.If you are a seasoned and experienced estimator with a passion for site development and have the desire to grow with a company that values your contributions, we want to hear from you.
