Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Quality Engineer to manage our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products, focusing on configuration control, process optimization, tooling, and work sequencing. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with quality standards, resolving technical issues, and driving continuous improvements within the manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:Product Build Quality: Ensure the efficient production of high-quality products, focusing on configuration control, work planning, tooling, and sequencing.Parts Manufacturing & Assembly: Support manufacturing and assembly operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout the process.Process Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation & procedures to ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal Quality Management System (QMS) standards (ISO 9001:2015).RCCA and Problem Solving: Analyze and address non-conformance issues, create solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling, and implement effective countermeasures.Production Planning: Plan and document installation processes, tooling, equipment, and/or quality control methods to optimize manufacturing efficiency.Design Support: Provide technical support for product design, collaborating with engineering teams to enhance product quality, address cost concerns, and resolve technical issues.Quality Assurance: Lead quality functions for assigned programs, ensuring that tasks are performed and inspected according to the control plan and customer requirements.Internal Audits & Continuous Improvement: Conduct internal quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives, implementing Lean Manufacturing practices to streamline processes.FMEA and Process Improvement: Actively lead in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with Cross-Functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement.Production Oversight: Lead and oversee quality assurance efforts for production activities, including materials, assemblies, and RMA analysis.Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve production and manufacturing issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.Required Qualifications:BS/MS in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline preferred).Proven experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing or assembly environment.Experience with manufacturing and assembly operations, including configuration control and process documentation.Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015/AS 9100 quality systems and regulatory standards.Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create effective solutions to production challenges.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and process optimization.Proficiency in MS Windows (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace equivalents.Must live or be willing to relocate within 25 miles of the facility.Preferred Qualifications:Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification.ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM).Experience working with military or aerospace quality systems.Experience collaborating with customers, suppliers and/or cross-functional teams to resolve quality and production issues.Hands-on experience with production tooling, equipment planning, and technical support.We are looking for a quality-driven engineer who is passionate about managing and optimizing production processes and improving product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
