TEAMSTERS JOINT COUNCIL NO. 41OFFICE MANAGER/BOOKKEEPERIntroductionTeamsters Joint Council 41 is a regional labor organization located in Valley View, Ohio, and is currently seeking a qualified Office Manager/Bookkeeper. The Joint Council oversees Teamsters Local Union jurisdiction assignments and organizing of new bargaining units in northern and central Ohio, and provides a wide variety of additional services to Teamster members, retirees, and their families. The Joint Council's jurisdiction extends to 20 separate Teamsters Local Unions throughout Ohio.Responsibilities· General office duties: calls, mailings, filings, emails, faxes, drafting letters, maintaining office equipment· Processing and distributing weekly/monthly payroll for nine Joint Council employees· Preparing Joint Council meeting materials, including, but not limited to: preparing and sending notices and meeting agendas, creating and maintaining meeting folders, arranging meeting amenities, and maintaining a mailing list of Joint Council Delegates· Processing Local Union contract approvals· Preparing Joint Council hearing panel materials, including, but not limited to: notices to involved parties, and hearing documents· Preparing, distributing, and monitoring Joint Council Executive Board poll votes· Processing payments from the Joint Council's Scholarship Fund Account· Arranging all aspects of the Joint Council 41 Scholarship Fund charitable fund raising events.· Bookkeeping duties: processing per capita tax payments to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, pay invoices, payroll, and other items through QuickBooks, filing tax forms (including both quarterly and annual), such as IRS Forms W2s and 1099S, performing monthly close-outs and bank reconciliations for the Joint Council's accounts, and preparing various Trustee reports Job RequirementsWork ExperiencePrior office experience in the above described duties essential.Educational BackgroundSecondary education preferred, but not required.Specific Skills or CredentialsComputer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Salary, Benefits and Application InstructionsThis is a full-time position with a salary of $840 per week, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health benefits (comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision, short-term disability), retirement benefits (including a 401(k) savings plan and participation in the Teamsters Joint Council 41 Severance Plan), four weeks of paid vacation, and a generous paid leave policy.
