POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for invoice coding, payment processing and vendor statement reconciliation.REPORTS TO: ControllerSUPERVISES: N/AESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:Matching invoices to statements, entering vendor information and coding company expenses into the accounting software, and obtaining approval to pay invoices.Setting up new vendors in accounting softwareFacilitate vendor communication during discrepancies.Manage office credit card expenses, including entry and balancing to statements.Processing 1099'sOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists with budgetary process and research as needed.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:One to three years of related Accounts Payable experience.COMPETENCIES:Exceptional keyboarding skills including EXCEL.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.Quality of work reflects efficiency and accuracy.Ability to obtain knowledge and skills on the job or through educational courses.Polite, professional, and courteous.Proactive and adaptable with the ability to multi-task and work independently in fast paced environment.PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:The Accounts Payable Specialist will be required to maintain an understanding of basic accounting principles and spreadsheets.Opportunity to attend educational seminars related to Accounting and Accounts Payable best practices.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):Physical Activity: Fingering (Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.), repetitive motion, standing, stooping, reaching, walking, lifting, verbal communication.Physical Requirements: Sedentary work.Staff member is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.In addition to the expectations listed above, each employee must demonstrate a commitment to the organization's Values, Standards of Conduct, Standards of Care and Vision for Life principles.
