Job Summary:We are looking for a Videographer and Production Assistant to join our video production company with flexible options to start part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate's availability. This position is perfect for someone passionate about videography and photography, with an eye for detail and a drive to create beautiful visual stories. Whether you're looking for a side gig or a full-time position, this role offers the opportunity to grow within our company. As we plan to open a studio in late 2024 or early 2025, you will be an integral part of setting up and operating in the studio space. Candidates must be comfortable commuting to Aurora up to 5 days a week.Key Responsibilities:Video and Photo Production:Shoot video content for a variety of projects, including short documentaries, event recaps, promotional videos, and social media content.Capture high-quality photos for content creation and marketing materials.Edit both videos and photos to ensure professional-quality deliverables.Work with professional equipment, including Sony a7siii, Zoom F6, professional microphones, and drones (drone license training provided if needed).Plan and execute shoots independently and with the creative director.Maintain a professional demeanor and communication with clients on set.Creative Planning and Additional Skills:Assist with creative planning for video shoots and photo sessions.Any additional skills such as graphic design or web development are a plus and may be utilized in various projects.Gear Management:Help manage and organize production gear, ensuring it is prepped and ready for shoots.Assist in keeping the studio space clean and organized (you will help set up and be part of our new studio opening in late 2024 or early 2025).Editing:Edit videos from start to finish, ensuring high-quality content.Edit photos for marketing, social media, or client deliverables.Assist with post-production work as needed, though the focus will be primarily on production.Project Management:Manage multiple video and photo projects at once and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.Ensure all projects stay on schedule, from pre-production through post-production.Travel and Location Shoots:Travel to location shoots as needed, including nationwide travel 1-2 times per month.Occasionally work weekends, though work/life balance will be maintained.Skills and Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of experience with videography and photography (professional or hobbyist).Proficiency in video editing software (Premiere Pro preferred, willing to train if proficient in other software like DaVinci Resolve) and photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).Strong visual eye for composing both video shots and photographs.Understanding of basic videography principles (exposure triangle, pan, tilt, zoom).Experience with lighting setup is a plus, but training can be provided.A valid driver's license and ability to drive to shoots.Ability to work independently, take creative direction, and collaborate with a team.Comfortable commuting to Aurora up to 5 days a week.Any additional skills in graphic design or web development are a plus.Portfolio Requirement:Candidates must submit a portfolio of work that demonstrates their videography and photography skills.Work Environment and Expectations:Flexible work hours with opportunities for remote work.In-person studio work will be required most days once the studio opens in late 2024 or early 2025.Travel required for location shoots, with national travel 1-2 times per month.Must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.Willing to help with the setup and daily operations of the new studio space.Ongoing training provided to help develop skills.Compensation and Benefits:$18-25/hr based on experience.Part-time/as-needed or full-time contractor position (1099), depending on the candidate's availability.Strong potential for the role to evolve into a full-time position.Bonuses for bringing in new leads or talent.Company merchandise and meals provided.Performance Metrics:High-quality video and photo content that elevates the production level.All projects are kept on schedule, and client satisfaction is maintained.Efficient time management and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.Leadership potential and the ability to direct other videographers/photographers as the team grows.
