We cater logistics strategies and processes to our customers' needs by utilizing the latest information systems and advanced technologies.SummaryThe Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring company safety activities and programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment for all employees. Conducts facility and vehicle handling safety audits for all employees. Assists with conducting OSHA training, and investigating vehicle accidents and injuries.PrimaryResponsibilities & Essential FunctionsConduct inspections of facilities to ensure a safe working environment.Monitor the work environment for possible hazards such as slips, trips, falls, electrical shock, and exposure to hazardous chemicals.Conduct investigations regarding accidents and injuries to identify causes.Assist with entering accident and injury reports into pmvitals.Conduct training sessions on safety procedures to ensure that all employees are aware of hazards in the workplace.Conduct safety audits, to include PPE, Anti-Mutilation, Dress Code, & Vehicle Handling.SecondaryAssist facility maintenance; take company vehicles off site for maintenance or picking up.Assist Safety Assistant Manager in all safety programs.TertiaryAssist departments in safety procedures.QualificationsSkillsWritten and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.Must be able to interpret policies, understand safety requirements & regulations.Commitment to excellence and high standards.Ability to deal effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels.Good Judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.Ability to effectively handle emergency situations.Education & ExperienceKnowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.HS Diploma/G.E.D.Leadership / Supervisory Experience required; Previous Safety Health & Environmental Role preferredPhysical RequirementsDriveLift/Carry up to 20lbsPush/pullBend/stoopKneelStandReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.Working and Environmental ConditionsThis position works in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting.Exposure to loud noises from vehicles and heavy machineryExposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditionsExposure to chemicals/fumesThe information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the job, nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of skills and abilities required to do the job.
