Job Description

The Senior E&I Engineer position is a direct-hire position working for HGA in the Ruston, LA, Hattiesburg, MS, Birmingham, AL, or Lexington, KY office.The Senior E&I Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems critical to our clients' operations. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integrity, reliability, and safety of their facilities while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities Design, specify, and oversee the installation of electrical and instrumentation systems for compressor and pump stations, including power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and process automation. Design, specify, and oversee the installation of electrical and instrumentation systems for meter stations, including flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, and control valves. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate engineering solutions and optimize facility performance. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to develop engineering designs, specifications, and construction plans that meet project objectives and regulatory requirements. Perform detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and modeling to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical and instrumentation systems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize the performance and longevity of electrical and instrumentation assets. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical and instrumentation systems, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in electrical and instrumentation engineering for oil and gas facilities. Provide technical expertise and support to internal stakeholders, including training, guidance, and documentation.Qualifications:Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 15 years or more of experience in instrumentation engineering preferred, with significant experience in oil and gas facilities. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, instrumentation, and control systems. Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or similar tools. Experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus). Familiarity with safety standards and practices relevant to hazardous environments (e.g., NEC, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in all aspects of work.
