Industry Oil & GasPosition Engineering TechReq Code 2473General Location ColumbusPrimary Responsibilities Requisition Number: 2473 Job Title: Engineering Tech Date Opened: 6/11/2024 Location: Columbus OH Industry: Oil/Gas Department: Project Management Employment Type: FT Regular Part-Time Available: No FLSA Exemption: Non- Exempt Eligible for US Work Authorization Sponsorship: NoPosition may be payrolled through agency selected by the Company.Job SummaryThe Engineering Tech reports to the EDG Site Interface Manager and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations and resolution to inquiries from the Client and Owner.The selected candidate is responsible for providing technical support to the EDG Site Interface Manager and Client engineers.Job Duties And Responsibilities Participate as a member of project teams to assist others in the development and resolution of RFIs and other technical issues identified during construction and commissioning. Represent in a professional manner in all client interaction activities. Understand and follow Corporate Safety Plan and site-specific safety plan. Perform physical and virtual walk downs Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use. Investigating problems and/or reported incidents; identifying and recommending solutions/alternatives as appropriate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities) Requires ten (10) to fifteen (15) years' experience in Power or equivalent industry experience. Computer literate in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations. Knowledge of safety compliance regulations and commitment to a safe work environment Working Conditions Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. Uncontrolled environmental conditions: Constant change in weather and site conditions. This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.). Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas. May need to work at heights and must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements; must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights. Evaluate information based on measurable standards; and see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings. Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.
