Industrial Electrician (Full-Time)Location: Brooklyn, NYEmployment Type: Full Time; PermanentCompensation: $80,000 to $89,000 per yearOur Client - is seeking an experienced and dedicated Industrial Electrician to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems, components, and apparatus for machinery and equipment in an industrial setting. This is a prime opportunity for motivated individuals with skills in electrical installation, maintenance repair, design, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrument equipment.About Our Client:Our Client is a leading provider of materials to build our sustainable future. Our operations extend beyond cement, aggregates, and ready-mixed concrete.Key Responsibilities:Test and diagnose electrical instrumentation and control problems.Discuss operation variations with supervisors or other electrical and maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.Install power or instrumentation wiring and conduit for machinery and equipment.Replace or repair faulty electrical components of machinery, including relays, motors, switches, printed circuit boards, and position sensing devices. Rewire motors in conjunction with gearbox assemblies.Use PC and PLC programming to troubleshoot process control issues for automated machinery. Calibrate instrumentation using programming devices.Troubleshoot and repair variable speed drives, process analyzers, and measuring equipment.Assist with project research on system dynamics and control loop algorithms, contributing to the design for retrofit and upgrade of existing equipment.Plan layout of wiring and system installation within the facility.Read blueprints, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures and diagnose problems. Update prints to reflect field changes.Use standard hand tools, instruments, and power tools as required.Follow oral or written instructions and work assignments. Complete checklists and work orders as required. Maintain records and logs of preventive electrical maintenance activities.Maintain general cleanliness of work areas and keep all tools and equipment in good working order.Participate in the training of apprentices and new employees.Follow plant and OSHA Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Maintain awareness of plant environmental standards and take corrective actions to address minor problems or report compliance issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution.Obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).Qualifications:Certification as an Industrial Electrician or equivalent combination of education and training.Knowledge of HMI and PLC control systems.Industrial Electrician experience is required. (Residential electrician experience is not applicable).Ability to perform arithmetic operations and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in practical situations.Ability to work extended hours and irregular schedules.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Physical ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, squatting, and repetitive motions. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs, working in confined spaces, and enduring all climates and heights.
