LHH has formed an exclusive partnership with a Kansas City based construction firm to assist in their search for an Accounting Manager. This firm is 100% employee owned and has a profitable ESOP program. The Accounting Manager role is newly created and will report directly to the CFO. This person will be responsible for corporate accounting, financial reporting and accounting compliance functions for the Company.This Accounting Manager role is ideal for someone coming straight out of public accounting or someone who has had progressive corporate accounting experience. You can expect a competitive base salary, 10% annual bonus and a 10% ESOP contribution.Responsibilities • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.• Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline accounting operations.• Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.• Lead company-wide annual budget and perform monthly budget-to-actual reviews and analysis.• Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Accounting• Minimum of 3-5+ years of professional accounting experience• CPA strongly preferred, but not required• Construction clients or construction industry accounting experienced highly preferred
