We are recruiting for a General Manager to direct all the operations for The Deck House Tavern at the Seacoast Adventure Park in Windham, Maine. The Deck House is located on the grounds of Seacoast Adventure Park, known for its large snow tubing hill in the winter, and a small water park, go kart track, and mini golf in the summer. We are looking for the highest-caliber, enthusiastic hospitality professional to lead the entire restaurant. This is a great opportunity to build a team and lead the restaurant forward. You will provide leadership, supervision, and support for the entire operation. The GM will fully manage the business, be present during service, and interact with guests, reporting directly to the owner. Main Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the restaurant and expand the restaurant's ability to do more covers. Responsible to achieve quality, service, and financial goals for the organization. Ability to read and understand a PandL. Monitor and insure high service standards. Build the employee team which will enable the restaurant to increase revenues - it is currently constrained by lack of staff. Interact directly with the customers to provide welcoming, friendly service and to solicit/receive feedback on quality of food and service. Insure the physical maintenance of the restaurant and catering facilities. Full comprehension of Human Resources including new hire process and termination. Remain current with industry trends and Department of Labor regulations. Full ability to complete a complex payroll process. Be familiar with relevant state and federal regulations. Ability to enter all menu information into Toast. Ability to research Toast for sales and payroll history to determine schedule forecasting. Oversee inventory and menu costing for food and beverages, using Peachworks. Gain a full understanding of the intricacies and differences in types of products and volumes. Comfort to interact with the restaurant's vendors and the ability to place or troubleshoot orders with the sales representative. Ability to do daily, weekly, and monthly labor forecasting and scheduling using Peachworks. Study and learn the abilities and tendencies of all current staff. Determine who can do what job and when, who they work with more productively. Map limitations and track for further training and development of each employee. Follow weather trends and unexpected events and how to quickly adjust schedules to react. Ability to administer oversight and performance evaluations of all employees on a regular schedule. Develop social media and public relations campaign to increase sales. Requirements: Must be able to regularly work weekends. Minimum of 5 years of previous food and beverage management experience Ability to read and understand a restaurant PandL and react to problem areas. Experience managing a bar program, including purchasing and receiving. Hands-on experience in restaurant operations. The majority of your time will be spent on the floor. Experience training and mentoring of staff, scheduling and payroll abilites. Strong attention to detail. Good computer skills, ability to manage and program reservation and POS system. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with ownership, coworkers, and employees. Ability to lead a staff and build headcount so the restaurant can build revenue.
