Drivers are typically home daily and run local and regional routes. **Copper operations are outside in the elements and require a half-face respirator, and any other required PPE to be worn for specific tasks. In addition, having to wear a half-face respirator, also requires that you are clean-shaven daily.We operate 24/7/365. Work schedules vary, depending on business needs. Load assignments are given based on hours of service available. Dedicated tractors are assigned, trailers are shared and slip-seating is expected. Less experience will be considered on an individual basis and may require an extended training periodValid DOT Physical No more than 2 moving violations within the previous 3 years HAZMAT Copper Drivers must wear a half-face respirator for specific tasks, which also requires that you are clean-shaven daily. Successful respirator physical, and respirator fit testAbility to pass a satisfactory road testAbility to pass a controlled substance test for pre-employment purposeKnowledge, skills, abilities & physical requirementsCDL driver must be qualified to operate a combination vehicle as a driver in compliance with FMCSAAbility to operate a manual 10-speed configurationMust be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policyUnderstand and comply with organizational policies and procedures and all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulationsMust be available for work when hours are available, according to FMCSA's hours of service regulationsAbility to work varying hours and schedules; occasionally staying overnight with short noticeProficient in performing tasks in rapid succession, handling stressful situations, making quick decisions, and reactingAbility to crawl on hands and knees to open and close bottom hatches on the underside of the trailerOccasionally lift, carry, pull, push and/or move up to 70 poundsRequires constant climbing of stairs and/or ladders, working at elevations of 14 feet above the groundThe ability to sit, drive, shift gears and stay awake for long periods of timeConduct tasks while wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE)Wear a face respirator and additional PPE when required while performing tasks Other configurations of PPE are required at all times while on mine and/or customer propertyPERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) requirements:PPE is required and must be worn in accordance with company policy and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each work site. PPE is typically issued by our safety department and may include but is not limited to:• Hard hat with face shield• Goggles/Spoggles• Gloves• Long sleeve shirt• Reflective vest• Hearing protection• Respirator Mask (varies according to the work site)• Steel toe boots (not supplied by CTI)Respirators: CTI employees are required to wear a full and/or half-mask respirator for any job task that requires a respirator. Respirators (PPE) are distributed by CTI and are used to protect employees from those occupational hazards caused by breathing contaminated air (harmful dust, fogs, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays, or vapors). All CTI employees who are required to wear a respirator must be clean-shaven daily and in compliance with respirator protocols at all times.CDL Driver Job description is available upon request.
