For more information, visit nyit.edu. The School of Management seeks a Project Manager who will be working directly with the Office of the Dean, located at either the Old Westbury or NYC campus. The position would entail roughly 70% project management responsibilities for new programs and initiatives and 30% administrative responsibilities. The Project Manager will work directly with the Dean in researching, developing timelines and resources, integrating, promoting and establishing new academic, traditional and non-traditional outreach programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels and any new initiatives undertaken by the Dean for the growth of the school. The Project Manager will also provide oversight, facilitation, and supervision of multiple projects which could include interpretation of policy, purchasing decisions, personnel, space and facilities, site planning, major event design, and promotion. Responsibilities Candidate must understand and be able to interpret and communicate the mission of New York Institute of Technology's School of Management and help establish and promote the vision of the Dean of the school. Working with diversified and confidential information is a mainstay of this position as is maintaining a proper atmosphere that is an "open door" for student, staff, alumni and community partners. In association with the administrative services and the project management responsibilities the Project Manager will need to resolve a diverse range of problems in accordance with propermanagement practices, applicable regulations (intellectual property rights), and university policies and procedures. The Project Manager will ensure adherence to budgets for the specific project dissemination of regulations, policies/procedures. Candidate will work independently, coordinate with various levels of staff within defined work objectives and with limited review of overall results. The candidate will play an integral role in the development and implementation of strategic planning as these new programs and outreach are based on providing more revenues to the school for future growth. In addition, candidate will be responsible for: * Research, evaluate and make recommendations on new projects and programs for the Dean. * Ensure availability of resources (such as space, materials, people, etc.). * Successful completion of the projects. Create and manage the marketing and promotional processes and materials; coordinate with individual project members and ensure that projects and initiatives operate and execute on well-understood deadlines. * Engage with partners to ensure successful completion of projects and initiatives * Ensure consistency with other existing programs while promoting the program through outreach marketing efforts as well as with alumni and community partners. * Act as the Dean's representative in coordinating activities for the Dean's Executive Council and the Business Advisory Board. * Order office supplies, computers, and furniture for faculty and staff as needed * Act as the primary point of contact for all staff and faculty supporting the Dean. * Facilitate workflow, communication, processes, and procedures related to the Dean's office operations. Oversee the maintenance of all Dean's Office files, both hard copy and electronic, to support AACSB accreditation efforts. * Create requisitions to obtain a purchase orders through procurement. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in business or communications or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to program management is required Must have strong communication skills as well as ability to manage long term projects and the day-to-day activities of the Dean's office. Experience with program management in higher education is preferred. Must have excellent work ethic and passion to learn and multi-task are a must and the ability to articulate strategies and implement policy. Attention to detail and the ability to exercise diplomacy and discretion are essential. Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite, and advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Access skills. Work independently, efficiently, and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Financial savviness and familiarity with budgets are preferred.
