The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Alaska Army National Guard Facilities is recruiting for a  Maintenance Specialist - Electrician - Journey 2 position. This position is in the Labor, Trades, and Crafts (LTC) bargaining unit at a Wage Grade 51. This position is open to All Applicants.  Please check our Definition FAQ to determine if you qualify.  What You Will Be Doing: Joining Army National Guard Facility Maintenance (ARNG), you will become a part of a ready, valuable team of professionals who are trained to meet the needs of our state and its citizens.  This role plays an integral part of our team to ensure the direct digital controls (DDC), security, and fire alarms are maintained for various National Guard facilities.  You will also be assisting with the review of construction electrical specifications and blueprints, working with contractors to inspect and plan electrical upgrades. Who We Are Looking For: In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess the following competencies: * Electrical:  Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance. * Technical Problem Solving:  Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem. * Mechanical:  Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, installation, uses, repair, and maintenance. * Project Management:  Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Employer provided training. * Level I Procurement. Employer provide training must be completed within 120 days of hire.
