Position Purpose: The Director of Employee Engagement will develop, lead, and execute comprehensive employee engagement, communication and community strategies that enhance internal engagement and cohesion as well as community partnerships. They will develop and implement strategies and programs to communicate changes, business objectives, culture, and other content to employees as well as facilitating employee events and volunteerism. The Director of Employee Engagement will act as the key liaison between our communities and employees, building meaningful community partnerships to enhance the Bank's engagement, visibility, and business opportunities within our communities. The position is designed to work independently, make autonomous decisions on high-level matters, and attend community events outside regular working hours. Essential Functions: Employee Engagement & Communications Develop an employee engagement strategy in collaboration with HR team that aims to enhance employee experience, efficiency, and longevity. Champion employee volunteerism by engaging employees with opportunities to connect with our communities. Facilitate regular employee social events including the annual recognition party and other ongoing events. Collaborate with HR team on culture initiatives to improve employee engagement. Coordinate with key leaders in each market to attend community events. Collaborate with Learning & Development team to provide opportunities for employees to engage with continued learning. Develop communication calendars, plans, standards, and expectations for all internal communication. Implement metrics to evaluate effectiveness of internal communication plan delivery. Develop and implement internal communication strategies that strengthen employee engagement and alignment with the Bank's purpose. Oversee the creation and implementation of an internal intranet communication platform for all employees. Create and maintain feedback channels for employees, fostering an open and collaborative work environment. Craft and deliver messages that communicate organizational changes, initiatives, and policy changes. Design, edit and oversee distribution of internal communication materials via company newsletters, intranet, emails/memos, webcasts, employee meetings, etc. Oversee development of presentation content for internal meetings & events. Develop content and deliver annual communications for various employee programs throughout the year (open enrollment, performance reviews, annual party, shareholders meeting etc.). Assess all donation requests to confirm they meet our donation policy guidelines and assist with donation budget. Coordinate community events, parades, golf tournaments, home shows etc. in all markets, including assessing donation requests, overseeing sponsorships, banners, swag etc. Manage company store vendor. Facilitate Club 100 and volunteer programs including tracking hours and planning annual dinner. Ownership and maintenance of Marketing SharePoint. Assist with community contests and programs. Act as the primary liaison between the bank and the community, attending community events, forums, and meetings. Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a community engagement strategy to include a budget, focus, projected ROI and usage of community sponsorship and donations to meet Bank goals and align with Bank strategy. Collaborate with Bank leaders to develop and implement an internal communication strategy that aligns with Senior leadership and HR goals for employees. Develop, monitor, and report on metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication and community strategies internally and externally, adjusting tactics as necessary to optimize engagement and ROI. Continuously refine communication, event, and community engagement strategies based on feedback and ROI. Support crisis communication planning and execution to protect and maintain the Bank's reputation. Stay informed of industry trends and best practices, providing thought leadership to enhance the Bank's communication and community strategies. Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain relationships with local organizations, partners, and community groups. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field preferred. 8+ years of experience in communications, with a focus on financial services or community-oriented businesses preferred. 5+ years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or related fields. Proven track record of developing and executing communication strategies that engage diverse audiences and drive positive outcomes. Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to think strategically and act tactically, with experience handling multiple priorities. Experience managing public relations and media relations efforts, preferably within a regulated industry. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills. Proven ability to build relationships and engage with diverse community groups. Experience with event planning and project management. Experience developing and implementing high level corporate strategy. Proven success as a leader who drives initiatives for medium to large companies. Strong understanding of community banking principles and local economic drivers preferred. Washington Driver's license required. Physical Requirements: The work requires the ability to operate office machines and equipment, such as personal computers, printers, copying machines and telephones. The work requires the ability to communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and others in person and on telephones. Work activities involve a combination of sitting/standing for extended periods. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $87,151.75 - $148,157.98 The typical hiring range for this position is $87,151.75 - $100,006.63 The incentive plan for this position is the Officer Incentive plan. It is paid out quarterly with a 12.5% target payout.
