Job Description

Serves as the SME for controlsautomation within the facility. Provides controls related support and guidance to maintenance, production, and engineering personnel as required to increase safety, reliability, and efficiency. Qualifications: Proven experience supporting electrical controls in an industrial environmentStrong electrical, mechanical, analytical, and diagnostic skills, with the ability to define problems and resolve them quickly and safelyHighly proficient with PLC software and hardware to include Rockwell AutomationAllen-Bradley products (Studio 5000 and similar)Extensive PLC programmingtroubleshooting experienceExperience supporting industrial networks, motor control systems, servo drives, variable frequency drives, safety devices, and electrical distribution systemsHMISCADA development expertise (FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, Ignition, and similar)Strong understanding of electrical theory and devicesAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and diagramsExperience integrating and commissioning industrial equipment or controls hardwareEffective communication and computer skillsAbility to work both individually and as part of a teamResponsibilities:Demonstrate safe electrical work practiceHands-on PLCHMI programming, modification, and troubleshootingSupport maintenance efforts to diagnose and repair electrical equipment and control devices (i.e., PLCs, motor controls hardware, IO, drives, sensors, and OT networks) Lead andor support internal controls projects from conception to completion including planning, installation, and commissioning as requiredIdentify opportunities to optimize safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability of production lines with automationMaintain backup programs for PLCs, HMIs, and VFDsWork with the Maintenance group to develop and implement a training plan to increase controls knowledge within the teamIdentify obsolete controls hardware and ensure appropriate spare parts availabilityWork with outside vendors and contractors involved in controls related projectsMinimum Requirements:Technical Degree in Engineering, Industrial Controls, Automation, Mechatronics, or similarFormalized training and and extensive experience considered in lieu of a degree5+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs5+ years of experience with HMISCADA 5+ years of experience with Motor Controls (motors, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components)
