Job Description

Full time employee role with our client a well established Software Development company The Proposal Writer responds to customer Requests for Proposals to win new business and retain existing contracts. The position requires proposal-related research, collaboration across departments, content development, and production activities. In addition, this position prepares other sales and marketing-related written materials as directed, often completing work under tight time frames.Review and understand submission requirements and instructions to develop compliant proposal responses and ensure on-time proposal submission.Develop the proposal template and development schedule.Draft the content of proposals for both new and existing commercial and government clients using well written, persuasive language. Content will include but is not limited to, resumes, key personnel bios and work plans. In addition, this role includes development of content for other marketing materials.Coordinate with internal teams to manage draft reviews and edits while managing the proposal development schedule.Provide proposal support, including: editing, formatting, identifying and preparing required forms and assembling appendices. Develop the proposal production schedule, manage and perform the production of the final proposal package, which may include printing, assembling, binding, packaging and shipping andor emailing all documents. Review proposal before final publication as requested.Perform other projects as assigned. This may include, for example, maintaining company's proposal library, and populating and maintaining a repository of materials for sales staff, and writing and updating content on company's Internet site.Provides administrative support as needed for preparing proposals for mailing, including but not limited to, copying, printing, mailing, etcMinimum Education andor Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree plus at least five years related experience; or at least nine years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.APMP Foundation Certification desiredAt least 3 years of Experience in proposal writing, business development, marketing, corporate communication andor bidRFP response development is highly desired.Prior work experience at a business process outsourcing firm.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Exceptional business writing abilitiesAbility to communicate ideas and concepts both orally and in written format.Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex requirements and processes and assist in writing technical persuasive documents.Strong research and interviewing skills.Strong Microsoft skills including Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelProficiency with Adobe AcrobatStrong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, and teamwork skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to complete tasks in a short time frame and within required deadlines.Strong organization and time management skillsAbility to collaborate and work in a cross functional team to achieve resultsMust work independently and be a self-starterBasic knowledge of MS VisioKnowledge of competitive bid process including the government proposal solicitation process is highly desired
