Proper Hospitality is seeking a dynamic Task Force General Manager (GM) to temporarily oversee operations for San Francisco Proper Hotel. Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, operationally savvy and dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence and team engagement.Key Responsibilities:Operations ManagementAssume full responsibility for San Francisco Proper's day-to-day operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and MaintenanceEnsure compliance with luxury standards, brand guidelines and operational policiesOversee the implementation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize efficiencyMonitor and manage budgets, revenue and expenses to meet financial goalsGuest ExperienceFoster a culture of exceptional service that exceeds guest expectationsAddress guest concerns and feedback promptly and professionallyCollaborate with department heads to personalize and enhance the guest experienceTeam Leadership & DevelopmentProvide leadership and direction to department managers and staffInspire a positive workplace culture through effective communication, recognition, and motivationMentor and coach team members to drive performance and professional growthAssist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members as neededStrategic InitiativesLead and execute special projects, such as property pre-openings, rebranding, or major eventsIdentify operational challenges and develop creative solutions to improve efficiency.Ensure compliance with all local regulations and safety protocolsFinancial ManagementDevelop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs)Maximize profitability by identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue-enhancing initiativesProvide regular updates and reports to ownership or regional managementQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, preferably in luxury or boutique propertiesProven track record in hotel operations, financial management, and guest satisfactionStrong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teamsExceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsFlexibility and adaptability to thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environmentsProficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, MICROS) and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to travel or relocate for task force assignments as requiredKey Competencies:Strategic Thinking: Ability to evaluate challenges and implement effective solutionsGuest-Centric Focus: Passion for delivering personalized and memorable guest experiencesAgility: Comfortable working in varied environments and adapting to changing prioritiesLeadership Presence: Builds trust and inspires confidence among team members and stakeholdersBusiness Acumen: Strong understanding of hotel financials, marketing, and operational performance metricsCompany Overview:Proper Hospitality is made up of a diverse group of passionate individuals who share a common love for hotels and the art of hospitality.
