Job Description PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under direction, serves as a principal assistant to the Chief Quality Officer of the facility and exercises wide latitude of independent judgement and initiative in the administrative direction and coordination of major activities and functions of the facility as it relates to Quality, Safety and Performance Improvement. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Quality Management is charged with and responsible for the following: 1. Manages, supervises, coordinates and evaluates operations of the NYC H+H / Lincoln's Health Quality Management program. Serves as the content expert, primary resource and point of contact for the organization and executive leadership for Quality Metrics. 2. Works collaboratively with hospital departments to ensure quality and safety data are collected, validated, analyzed and shared; ensure stakeholders understand metrics and fallouts as well as plans for improvement and recommends benchmarks to improve practices 3. Develops and provides a roadmap to drive organizational growth objectives surrounding quality. Develops strategies and improvement plans to enhance the highest level of quality care and patient safety. Works effectively with different departments to drive improvement efforts and achieve outcomes. 4. Work strategically on organizational excellence pertaining to national performance measures e.g. Leapfrog, Hospital Star Rating, Electronic Clinical Quality Measures and Core Measures to evaluate and highlight the hospitals quality and efficiency. 5. Works collaboratively with regulatory to identify problem areas, and that need improvement, identify gaps and help with improvement projects related to compliance with the Joint Commission, Department of health, and other regulatory agencies. 6. Contributes to an information database of continuous compliance and patient safety issues for planning, priority setting, analysis and trending. Shares data and analysis effectively with stakeholders to improve areas of concern or non-compliance. 7. Provides regular supervision, direction, leadership, performance appraisal and professional development for assigned staff members. Responsible for ensuring a positive and productive work environment with a culture of psychological safety and continuous learning for staff. Supports the process of identifying staff training needs and assist as appropriate in developing effective employee education programs to enhance continuous quality improvement. Provides regular constructive feedback and development plans to team members. Minimum Qualifications 1. Graduation from an approved School of Medicine and completion of an approved residency and Board eligible; and, 2. N.Y. State license; and, 3. Five years of full-time paid experience in a responsible medical and clinical administrative and/or managerial capacity; or, 4. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and, 5. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical services administration, of which at least four years must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity.
