Job Description The Manufacturing Engineer will design, build and implement high volume, repetitive production equipment and processes. Improve product and process reliability, productivity, ergonomics and safety in manufacturing processes. Provide technical support to Manufacturing Departments. This position reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineers and is based out of our Lewiston, ID office. As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will have an opportunity to: Improve process capability to guarantee product quality and performance. Improve manufacturing department productivity by making bottleneck operations run faster, safer and more reliable. Coordinate with production on day-to-day activities and problem resolution. Develop improvements to tooling, processes methods, and equipment to improve the manufacture of existing products and resolve issues/problems. Coordinate testing and data collection to support changes. Document new or changed designs on Engineering drawings and specifications. Issue product/process requests, releases, and change notices. Assist Safety Department with Process Hazard Analysis and incident investigations in manufacturing departments supported. Provide product technical support for customer complaints/inquiries, and non-manufacturing support departments. Assist Quality Department with product issues, lead projects through manufacturing to determine root cause, implement changes to process. Perform project management assignments including: capital projects, equipment/process upgrades, cost reductions, and material sourcing. Lead and coordinate projects with cross functional teams. Oversee that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. Apply lean manufacturing, automation, and modern manufacturing techniques where applicable. Perform additional duties as assigned. You have: BS in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Basic understanding of CAD/Modeling. SolidWorks is preferred. High level of communication and presentation skills. Strong personal relationship skills to work with all stakeholders including vendors, internal customers, and production crews. Hands-on problem-solving skills. You might have: Experience in a repetitive high volume manufacturing environment. Experience with ammunition, firearms, and reloading. Experience with metal forming and deep draw. Basic knowledge of machine shop technology, tools, and equipment.
